Keith Walker
from Phat 50s is hosting Saturday Night Mini Madness
at four rounds of the Ontario Provincials this season.
The rounds are: Gopher Dunes, Auburn Hills, Sand Del
Lee and Walton. The series finale will be held at Walton
on August 18th and 19th in conjunction with the national.
The racing is intense and the championship is very prestigious.
Brett Dailey
lined up for the action on his daughter's bone stock
CRF50 to evaluate the competition. "I felt a bit
like John Dowd out there," said Dailey after scanning
the field and noticing that not one competitor had a
whisker on their chin. "I guess I'll just have
to show these kids some respect."
Richard Grey
took the win in the 10" wheel 12 and under class
followed by Justin Roney and Cole VanDeVon. "That
was just a warm-up race," said Grey after the moto.
"I have my sights set on that trash-talking Dailey
guy. How old is he anyway, like, 36 or something? He
looks ancient."
Next up was
the 10" 13 and up class which would be Dailey's
debut. Although seriously underpowered off the line,
he used a 45 degree angled start strategy to send Matt
"Where's my Napolean Dynamite custom helmet?"
McGuiness into the side of the tabletop. That held him
back long enough for Dailey to pull a Ryan Gauld-esque
lead on the pack. "He came out of nowhere and ran
me right off the track," protested McGuiness who
was later seen crying in his Red Bull. "These old
buggers think that they are all tough and old school.
Old school, old school, old school ... that's all you
hear from these guys. They repeat it like it's some
cool new phrase or something. Well, saying old school
really is old school guys, so get with the times."
The 12"
class was full of cheater bikes so the entire field
was protested and membership cards were revoked.
The premiere
event was the Pro Open where Dailey really came to grips
with his 50. "Man, my knee kept hitting that stupid
kill switch on the bars," said a frustrated Dailey.
"I was riding the wheels off that thing so I kept
thinking that I seized it but every time it was just
that stupid kill switch. I felt bad when I came up to
lap little Richard Grey but I held it on and scrubbed
his front wheel a bit. He and his dad looked a bit pissed
after the move but hey, that's old school. If these
kids can't take a little scrubbing once in a while they
need to grow up. That's old school, I tell ya, old school."

Dan Gysbers
won the 12" class but it was later uncovered
that it was actually Ivan Tedesco under the helmet
so he was disqualified. |

Kyle Stephens
looked good on his Edge Performance 7000cc cheater
bike but he was still no match for Dailey. |

Derek Sanftenberg,
not quite tall enough for his mount, had to borrow

Trevor Middleton
was laying it down in practice and looked to be
the man (kid) to beat but as they say, "When
