Since this
is the final 125 West round, we decided to post a photo
report for the top 5 in each qualifier. Dusty
Klatt won his 125 and 250 qualifier while Jean
Sebastien Roy and Colton Facciotti
won the other two. Colton led the first qualifier over
Ryan Morais and could easily play the
spoiler in Sunday's Klatt/Morias title drama. Other
riders capable of stealing the limelight include BMRT
Yamaha's Kyle Beaton, Pacific Yamaha's
Erick Vallejo and James Marshall
and Richmond Kawasaki's Jeff Northrup.
All of these riders were quick in their qualifiers on
the fast Regina circuit.
In the 250
class, both Jean Sebastien Roy and Dusty Klatt won their
qualifiers by a comfortable margin but in qualifier
#1, Doug DeHaan had a good battle with
Damon Huffman for second place. DeHaan
was able to maintain a gap between himself and Huffman
so Huffy wasn't able to make a good pass attempt. DeHaan
will line up for the 125 East class next weekend in
Barrie so he is definitely a title favourite.
In the second
250 qualifier, Evan Laughridge, Gavin
Gracyk, John Dowd and Craig
Decker were all close. A start will be critical
on Sunday because all of the top riders are going fast
and not many are able to move through the pack. Keith
Johnson, who is riding injured, holeshot but
faded to 6th.
Other news:
- Diablo's Mike Treadwell rode practice
but his hand injury was too severe and he will sit
out this round. Andy White joked that he was going
to dress Treadwell up and get him to sell t-shirts
in the pits.
- Morgan Suzuki has hired Mike Katin
for the balance of the series. He is #703 and he finished
7th in his qualifier.
- Racer X Canada is here! The first
shipment hit Canada on Friday and we have a few copies
to hand out in Regina. The mag is 266 pages plus the
64-page Canadian insert so it's thick! This venture
is a big commitment from our friends in Morgantown
so we need your support to keep this rolling. Show
your support and pick up a copy at your local dealer
or your favourite newsstand. The magazine (September
cover date) should hit newsstands next week. Better

| Doesn't
he look happy? I have never been able to get Rick
Rundberg to pose for a photo but he went all out
for this classic shot. He must be excited to see
Randy Valade gear up for Barrie next weekend |
