Montreal SX - 250 Main

Track maintenance break right now. JSR was fast in his qualifier but will have his hands full with Thomas, Sellards, Dement, Barnes and Lewis. Florida's Jason Thomas won the first qualifier and set the fastest time so he will be tough.

Freestyle is on right now and the off-road car race is before the 250 main so it will be a little while before we get going. Ever the showman, Mike Jones finished his routine with a burnout so long that it filled the stadium with smoke and he had to get flagged down by the track marshalls. No wonder he wins this thing...

Jeff Banks busted a backflip on his first jump and the crowd goes crazy. A backflip nac nac and a backflip no hander. Man, Jeff Banks can jump. Jeff Banks won it easy...

250 Main

Lewis holeshots followed by Dement, Willard, Woods, Thomas, Roy, Johnson, Shue, Sellards

Lewis is hounded by Dement who is riding really well. Willard is hanging in there in third and is racing his first ever supercross, believe it or not. JSR is in sixth and having trouble making a pass on Woods and Thomas.

Lap 4: Lewis, Dement, Thomas, Woods, Willard, Roy, Johnson, Dube. JSR is making time and has just passed Willard and Woods!

Lewis is smooth, Dement trying hard to keep with him. Thomas is back about 2 seconds followed by JSR. Not much action in the top five right now, good gaps between all of the riders but Lewis looks like he's slowing a bit so things could get interesting...

Dement has caught Lewis on lap 7 and is all over him. Thomas and JSR are close so the top four are all within 3 seconds.

Thomas has now caught Lewis but can't make the pass. JSR still in fourth but the pack is tight. Thomas is trying to pass Lewis but he keeps closing the door. Thomas makes the pass on Lewis and Lewis goes off the track! JSR now in third with a few laps left...

Crowd is going nuts. Dement and Thomas in a great battle for the lead with JSR right behind them waiting for a mistake. You could throw a net over the podium--unreal.

Thomas makes the pass on Dement but JSR can't get by. Dement scrubs JSR's front wheel and allows Thomas to gap the two by about two seconds. JSR makes an agressive pass on Dement with only one lap to go. He's only about a second out of the lead and the crowd is standing...

Jason Thomas takes the win over JSR and Dement. Great race, crowd is cheering for JSR! Excellent event this year, hats off to Pierre Corbeil, Buddy Ford and the rest of the gang.
