Racer X has learned that Jake Weimer has been picked up as the fifth 250F rider for Amsoil/Chaparral/Factory Connection Honda. After a strong amateur career, Weimer, who hails from Idaho, was impressive enough in tryouts with the team to earn a spot in the big rig for the 2006 THQ AMA Supercross and AMA Motocross seasons.
Weimer rode the Canadian MX2 West series for OTSFF Suzuki, finished tenth in the series and won the second moto in Calgary.
