Willard Crowned MX2 East Coast Champ

We just received a phone call from Rob Goth of M2R Helmets with an urgent message to change the copy on his next ad in Racer X Canada.

"I need you to change the copy on the top to 'MX2 East Coast Champion,'" said Goth laughing after the conclusion of  MX2 moto two  from Ste. Julie national. "Do you think you can do that for me?"

KTM/M2R's Michael Willard passed Kyle Chisholm in the final laps of the MX2 moto two on a downhill section of the track and pulled away with a good lead to give KTM and M2R their first Canadian Championship.

Matt Barnes (KTM/M2R) pulled the early lead and was passed by the Kawasaki of Kyle Chisholm.  Willard was third off the start and moved by Barnes and gained steadily on Chisholm.  Willard capitalized when Chisholm's feet came off the pegs on a rutted downhill section.  Willard cut to the inside and pulled away with the lead.

Final podium for the series was Willard, Chisholm and Cooke.  The championship was well deserved for Willard as he spent a serious amount of time racing in Canada at provincial rounds in both Ontario and Quebec as well as the Quebec Arenacross series.

Congrats to Michael Willard on a well faught win.
