Moncton Report - Yamaha Canada

--press release--

The RiverGlade, Moncton national was set in excellent conditions, the track was the best prepared of the series and we had warm, clear blue skies all weekend. The event went off very well with the biggest spectator count so far, it was fence to fence people all around the track.

MX2 looked to be a good opportunity for Doug DeHaan to move up in points, he was generating some quick lap times in practice, looking very comfortable on his YZ250F. Unfortunately his motos didn't pan out as expected. After top five starts in both motos, Doug ran into problems, crashes took him out of his usual front of the pack positions. First moto with a low speed crash causing the bike to stall,  it took him almost a lap to get re-fired, once again he put in a great charge but could only catch up to 16th at the flag. Second moto, top five start and as he pasted into fourth, he went off line slightly landing in the soft mud tapped in forth. Yard sale, lots of mud spray, steam and feet above his head riding, end over end action. Doug was fine, but the crash took its toll on the bike. DeHaan was not able to continue. Doug still sits 6th overall in the MX2 East series. He will return more determined than ever to get back on the podium at the next round in St. Julie.

Brad Hagseth is making good progress with his rib and shoulder injuries, he is not yet completely healthy but his speed is coming back. Brad nailed down top 10 starts in both motos, showing that his YZ250 has plenty of motor to stay with the 450s. Hagseth when 14-11 for 13th overall, and his pace is definitely improving. We have two weeks off before St. Julie, we expect Brad to return fitter and faster yet. He has shown a lot of desire each time out, however his injuries have held him back, now that those should be behind him, he wants to get back in the top five. At St. Julie, one of his favorite tracks, he will be fighting all the way. #9 currently is 12th in the series.

Unfortunately Shane Bess was not able to attend the event due to the flu.

Kyle Beaton continues to heal and says he will be ready for Walton, it will be great to have him back on the team.
