With nearly a decade’s worth of experience in auto racing communications, Montreal-based motorsport agency Stuart Morrison Public Relations has recently turned its attentions to two wheel racing and in particular the dirt track dramas of motocross competition!
Having formed a relationship with KTM Canada to cover their 2005 CMRC Canadian Motocross Championships campaign with Team ALDO KTM Royal, SM-PR has been busy writing and distributing press releases promoting the team’s first year in the series and most recently their triumphs with teenage-charger Michael Willard in the MX2 East Championship.
SM-PR founder Stuart Morrison has relished the opportunity to utilize the skills and experiences he’s built up working with drivers, teams, sponsors and championship organizers from his four-wheel exploits into his first foray into bike racing with KTM Canada.
“I’m thrilled to be working with such a high profile brand as KTM as my first two-wheel racing client,” said Morrison. “While I’ve worked with guys in Formula One, Champ Car and the World Rally Championship I’ve always known that some of the best action in motorsport comes from bike racing, whether it’s MotoGP or Superbikes through to Motocross and Supermoto. I decided earlier this year that I wanted a piece of the action and I’m grateful to Andy White and KTM Canada for giving me the opportunity to work with them promoting their achievements in the Canadian Nationals.”
He continued, “Now that I’ve got my foot in the door in the motocross community I’m keen to expand my PR portfolio to include emerging and established riders as well as other sponsors or teams looking for professional but cost-effective promotion. I can cover a variety of PR services, from project managing a website design and build, through to writing race reports and sponsor newsletters. Good PR is about being pro-active as well as re-active, I can take care of this for clients allowing them to concentrate on what they do best – hitting the track!”
