Silent Auction at Gopher Dunes

Calgary ’s Dr. Dale Macdonald has been a familiar face at the Canadian National series for the last three years, providing trackside chiropractic care to a long list of pro riders free of charge through his Mobile Athlete Aid Centre.  Often Dr. Dale provides more than 50 treatments in a single national weekend.  After 10 years in university and four years of operating his own private practice, Dr. Dale is an invaluable resource for Canada ’s pro riders. His longstanding goal is to provide trackside health care to professional racers in a fashion similar to the Asterisk rig seen at US Nationals.

In 2005, Dale decided to invest even more of his time at the nationals. He spent much of the winter recruiting sponsors for the program and working on the logistics of getting a trailer to offer treatment in rather than using his traditional blue EZ Up. In the meantime, Dale worked from his tent at the Mission and Nanaimo rounds of the series. The trouble, however, started after Nanaimo when his EZ Up and treatment table did not make their arrival in Calgary as scheduled.   Whether the tent and table were hijacked, stolen, or just misplaced, the end result is still the same. It’s left Dr. Dale without a home at the nationals and with a $4000 hole in his pocket.

We at Racer X Canada decided that after all Dale has done for the sport in the last three years, it was important to show him some support and get him back where he belongs – trackside helping our racers – as soon as possible. As a result, we will be running a silent auction at the Gopher Dunes National to help recoup some of Dale’s losses. Several riders have donated jerseys and other gear. Stop by the Racer X Canada booth at Gopher Dunes to bid on these items and help show our appreciation for Dr. Dale.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Dr. Dale’s tent and treatment table, feel free to email allison@racerxcanada.com and spill the beans. No questions asked. Should anyone have questions about Dr. Dale’s program, please visit www.elitesportperformance.com
