--press release--

Record breaking rain fall on the Friday and Saturday in Calgary didn't dampen Kyle's, Doug's or Brad's desire to take care of business out on the Wild Rose MX track. All three of the team riders put in fine performances and rode with determination and heart.
In the first MX2 moto Beaton got a solid jump off the line but was pinched going into the first turn in the gooey ruts and was left deep in the pack coming out. He was 25th after the opening lap but put on his usual charge and worked his way well into the top ten. Another crash cost Kyle considerable time as the bike had stalled. He was back in mid pack but with the moto running down #24 could only catch up to 15th at the checkers. Kyle was not at all happy with his first moto performance and set out to dramatically change the outcome for the second moto. MX2 heat 2 took off with Beaton out side the top ten, he settled in and went to work. Kyle set a good pace to pick off rider after rider to finish 5th at the flag. The overall for the day (8th) wasn't what he had wanted and he had slipped from second to third in the series, but only 4 points out of second. He will get the job done, the following weekend in Regina.
Brad Hagseth and Doug DeHaan were on their game in Calgary, the rough and rutted track was to their liking. With not the best of starts in the first moto, completing the first lap in side the top twenty, Brad and Doug as usual so far this series, found themselves side by side, working thru the pack to get to the leading group. While dicing with each other their pace took them into the top ten, an awesome battle with many passes, finally resulting in Brad finishing 7th and Doug 8th. Second MX1 moto was really a repeat of the first, both our Bill's Pipes tuned YZ 250 riders charging from mid-pack, into the top ten by the half way point of the moto. Epic position changing took place with 5 riders all going for the spot, #9 & #11 right in the mix. With two laps to go Brad, running 7th, pushing a bit too hard, lost the front wheel in the right hand turn in the mechanic's area and went down. He slammed his chest into the end of the handlebars and injured his ribs, Brad was in too much pain to finish. Doug kept on his pace and finished again in 8th, giving him 6th overall for the day. At this point DeHaan is a really solid 7th in the series with Hagseth dropping a few spots due to his dnf of the second moto to 11th. Brad will try to race Regina if his rib injury is not too severe.
