Nye wins MX2 title!

Royal Distributing/Thor/Riverside KTM Canada's Eric Nye is your 2008 Canadian MX2 national champion! The Northern California kid sealed the title with a second-place in the final moto at Walton. "I was pretty nervous during that first moto - I rode terrible!" said Nye at the podium. "But, it all worked out so ..." It certainly did "Nye-a-later," congrats!

Suzuki OTSFF/Rockstar's Jeremy Medaglia recorded his first ever pro moto and overall win. Medaglia took over the lead after Dean Wilson went down in corner two and never looked back. Wilson grabbed the Royal Distributing holeshot on his KX250F, and then worked his way from last to 8th. Wilson tied in points with Maier, but Maier's 4-3 gave him second over Wilson's 1-8 scores.

Clearbrook Yamaha's Kyle Beaton was running third until his bike died with four laps to go. Poor Beets. That's three DNF's in the series for the Surrey, BC rider but he still held on for second overall in the series. Teddy Maier claimed third in the final moto, second overall, and moved past Mason Phillips for third in the series.

Ryan Lockhart ran second for the opening laps and held on for sixth behind a hard charging Kerm Fitz-gerald.

Nick Evennou's string of bad luck continued as he went down and was stuck under his bike atop of the Two Wheel tunnel. He eventually got going but finished outside the top-20.

MX2 overall results:

Medaglia 3-1
Maier 4-3

Nye 6-2
Phillips 5-4
Lockhart 7-6
Fitz-gerald 13-5
J. Allison 12-7
