You couldn't have asked for any better track conditions than what we saw at Round 7 of the Monster Energy MX Nationals two weeks ago in Moncton, New Brunswick. The River Glade track was in absolute mint condition. "That's the best I've ever seen that track," said three-time Brian House Memorial award winner, Ryan Lockhart. While dark clouds and humidity eluded to an incoming storm, it never came. We did receive showers on Friday night before the national, but they worked their way deep down into the dark, red Moncton clay and would slowly rise to the surface throughout the pro motos. There was no need to water the track; just disc it up and drop the gate.
Moncton is a smaller track on the circuit, with lap times under the two-minute mark, but it remains one of the most enjoyable tracks on the tour. Deep ruts form in the corners, a big floating tabletop jump magnetizes fans to the grandstands, and the new GP-style section sees riders passing cars down the highway.
