My flight is finally booked and my bags are waiting to be packed for the final round of the MX2 West Championship in Regina. You can't really understand how happy I am to be flying to the Regina round this year. Our general manager Brett Dailey and myself drove the 28 hour trek last year (in my VW Bug) from Toronto to Regina and by the time we got to our destination our sleep deprivation was more than apparent. But all the pain was worth it after watching Dusty Klatt take home his first Canadian Championship.
As I was making my final plans online for this year's trip, I got an email from Gerry Davis of the Regina Motocross Club:
Just thought I'd send you an update on progress for Round 4 in Regina. Some fairly serious changes have been made to the track including a new large triple—which may evolve into a quad by race day—and more sand has been hauled in to soften the corners up more than any previous race here. And I'm sure Chick will add some wrinkles to Moto Valley—the track that Throttle Control built.
The skies also look good for now, so we may have the first dry round of the series!
Gerry Davis,
Regina Motocross Club
Thanks for the note Gerry. New track layout, big jumps, sandy berms and clear skies: sounds like the makings of a no holds barred competition. I can’t wait. See you at the races.
