T. Medaglia holeshot the moto with Nelson, Homans and Cooke running up front. Medaglia only led for a short time before being passed by Northrop.  It took Facciotti about three laps before he made his run to the front.  Klatt had to work his way through the pack as well coming up from 15th. Cooke was having a great moto in 4th spot until he fell and dropped back.  Nelson was holding 5th until a mechanical failure forced him out of the moto.  Keast fell in the first corner but moved up quickly into the top ten in the next couple of laps only to crash twice more in an attempt to run to the front.

Facciotti now has a 6 point lead over Medaglia in the series points while Klatt is now 5 points back of Medaglia in third.
