A picture is worth a thousand words.
There isn't a lot to say about Saturday's non-event. It poured all day Friday, stopped briefly Saturday morning while we all examined the quagmire and the CMRC made the decision to cancel Saturday practice and qualifying. There was a five minute riders meeting and then everyone went their separate ways in the city of Calgary. Unfortunately, with a bunch of restless motocrossers on the loose in Calgary, the only indoor go-kart track in the city was closed because the roof leaked on the indoor track ... that's right ... too wet for indoor racing as well. Too bad, the place could have made a killing. In a last ditch effort for entertainment, the Chinook Mall became the place to be, lots of MX money pumped into the local economy via the movie theatre. It was a very long day, it rarely stopped raining, and most people just milled around wondering what the heck was going to happen on Sunday. There is a tentative schedule of events posted in the lobby of the Blackfoot Inn that would suggest that Sunday will go ahead as planned. According to the schedule there will be two MX2 qualifiers and an LCQ as well as a single MX1 qualifier and an LCQ. Really, I think any real decision about Sunday's race will once again be made at the mandatory 7:30 a.m. Sunday riders meeting. The forecast for Sunday is for sun and 20 degrees, but it may be too little too late at this point. As soon as I know, I'll pass the info on.

Ryan Villopoto will make his first appearance in Calgary with the Richmond Racing squad.

The Wild Rose MX Club worked all day Saturday trying to pump out the standing water while the rain continued to fall.

The faces at Saturday's riders meeting said it all: Dusty.

JSR - also unimpressed.

Treadwell's opinion.

What's this? Has Kyle Beaton secretly been hoping for another mudder?
See you at the races???
