Saturday Practice Report from Morden

Despite the heavy showers that Morden's received in the last week, Shadow Valley Raceway was in pretty good shape this afternoon. Hopefully the rain holds off enough to give us another great track tomorrow.

All right, we’ve had two weeks off to recover from the whoops of Gopher Dunes, and now the cast of the Monster Energy Motocross Nationals is in Morden, Manitoba for the high-speeds of Shadow Valley Raceway. The story gets better this weekend, as Minnesota’s Tucker Hibbert showed up with his concept hauler and YZ250F to mix things up in MX2. Hibbert rode well last weekend at the Texas round of the AMA Nationals, finishing 11-21 in the Lites class so we’re expecting big things from #29. PerformX Racing’s Kyle McGlynn is finally healed up from a broken collarbone and is on the line in MX2, as well.

In MX1, we have Team Toyota Yamaha/BlackfootDirect.com/Fox Racing’s Colton Facciotti back on the track. After sweeping the opener in Ste-Julie, Quebec, Facciotti was sidelined for Gopher Dunes when it was discovered that his shoulder injury included a fractured collarbone as well. Fortunately, the two-week break has been kind to Colton and he’s ready to race in Morden.

Other than that, it’s business as usual! Let’s take a sneak peek at the things to come with these flawless pics from the lens of James Lissimore….

Blackfoot's Colton Facciotti has returned to the series after missing Gopher Dunes due to his shoulder injuries.

Grande Prairie's Kyle McGlynn is another rider returning after injury. McGlynn missed the first two rounds because of a broken collarbone. He looks good so far and stated in an interview earlier this week that he's shooting for a top five in MX2.

South African Kerim Fitz-gerald is making his first trip out West this year. Fitz-gerald took to the Morden track quickly, setting the third fastest lap time in MX2.

Snocross ace, Tucker Hibbert, is racing the Morden and Regina rounds. Hibbert started the weekend well, setting the fastest lap time in MX2.

Quebec's Marc-Antoine Genereux skies it out over the big step-up.

Blackfoot's Aron Harvey looks good. Some informative stuff right there!

Suzuki/OTSFF/Rockstar's Jeremy Medaglia is looking to redeem himself after a dismal weekend at Gopher Dunes. Look for Jeremy--and his brother, Tyler--to excel on the fast and rutted Morden track.

Local hero, Ryan Millar, busts out the helmet cam in practice. Millar opted not to run a transponder in practice. Head games or did he just forget to put it on?

Team Powerhouse Honda of Milton/Morgan Racing's Chuck Mesley looks more comfortable in Morden. Sandra Houde filled us up with a big dish of homemade lasagna (best in all of Manitoba!) so "The Mez" should have lots of energy tomorrow.

Jimmy Nelson loves Shadow Valley! He was the fastest in MX1 with a 2:05.

Monster Energy Cernic's Kawasaki's Dusty Klatt whips over the big step-down.

Ryan Gauld is helping with Moto Show hosting duties this weekend. He begged and begged and begged me to wear the infamous 661 hat .. so I let him.

I guess Monster tastes that good! See you at the races!
