RTR Performance KTM update

Team RTR Performance spent the week between St. Julie and Gopher Dunes back East to save some travel time.

As stated in the previous release we were based out of KTM Canada with our own corner of the race shop to keep bikes and equipment in shape and ready to go for the week to come.

May 27 : We ended up leaving Montreal area on Tuesday and headed into Ontario for the Racer X/Roost Clothing ride at Carruthers Ranch on the next day May28th . It was a very cool track with a lot of fast riders showing up to hang out and have lunch.

May 29: RTR riders test at a private track about 10 minutes from Gopher Dunes.

May 30: Friday is park and set-up day. Walked the track!

May31: Practice- The day went well with everything rolling along good. The riders all had decent times and were really starting to get used to the sand track.

June1: Qualify -The qualifying times by the riders, was not bad, but we were having a hard time breaking into the top ten where we all wanted to be this weekend. While we were cleaning up and getting things ready for the next day a freak storm hit faster than we could react, taking our tents and blowing them away like they were weightless. Our Troy Lee Designs Tent frame didn’t survive the disaster. We will get this fixed for Morden.

Gopher Dunes, Moto 1- was off to a great start with our RTR/Valley Speed engines getting us out in front of the pack Kris Foster getting out of the gate in about 4th place and running with the leaders, mean while Ryan Millar was th for most of the race after sliding back to a good finish at 7th place. Kris Foster finishing back a little in 15th position and Kirk Haws still a little uncomfortable ran 30th by the end of the moto.

Moto 2 - again with a great shot out of the hole the RTR Valley Speed engines matched with the VP race fuel showing they had the power to hang with the Factory engines. Charging for the lead, Kris Foster running 3rd out of the gate! Ryan Millar in tow behind, it was shaping out to be a great moto for the Team.

After going down in the back section Foster got back up and stayed smooth and fast for the rest of the moto taking positions back including passing his team mate Ryan Millar and finishing a very good  8th place, for a 11th overall for the day.

Ryan Millar put in a strong moto also and was rewarded with 12th place for a 7th overall for the day. Kirk Haws worked his way to a 23rd place in this moto and finished the day with a 28th place over all.
After our post race meeting all riders are going into the next round positive and ready for the Morden race.
