Manitoba Motocross Association: Photo Report from Shadow Valley Raceway, Morden

Shadow Valley Raceway in Morden played host to round three of the Motovan Spring Provincial Championship.  It was only fitting on Mothers Day that Mother Nature finally shined on a 2008 MMA race with near seasonal temperatures.

An off-season visit to MTF seems to have paid off for Justin Gevoga.  The Junior rider has picked up his speed greatly over last season and was rewarded with a victory in the MX-2 Junior Main in Morden.

The 25+ class has seen some great battles this season.  Corey Parent put in a perfect day to take the overall ahead of Johnnie Unrau and Luke Mcfadden.

Stefani Blaquiere is running the tables to this point in the season in the Little Ladies class.

Stacy Groening grabbed the second step on the box in the Vet Junior class.

Second year Pro Tim Lavoie (166) has picked up the pace in 2008.  Lavoie left Morden with a pair of top five finishes in the MX-2 Pro and Youth classes.

Kim Houde returned to the top of the podium in the 40+ class this week with a 1-1 day.  Houde also picked up second overall in the Vet Master class.

Hunter Teichrib made a very rare MMA appearance in Morden.  Teichrib took the 65cc 7-9 class overall with 1-1 finishes, while a 2-2 day was good for second overall in the 85cc 7-11 class.

Jason Friesen returned to the ATV Pro class and left with another overall.

Russ Suderman took the MX-1 overall and finished second in the Youth B Main.

Former Provincial Champ Charity Schmidt has returned after taking a one year hiatus to focus on a new business interest.  Schmidt rode a pair of third place moto finishes to third overall in the Ladies class.

Perhaps waiting to be sculpted by Rodin, Stuart Brincheski adopts his best “thinker” pose.  The first year Intermediate obviously thought his way around the track on this day with a second overall in the MX-2 Intermediate class behind class favorite Ryan Millar.

Noah Robinson had to be smiling with a podium appearance with third overall in the 50cc 7-8 class to go along with a pair of top ten finishes in his first ever race in the 65cc 7-9 class.

Enns Agri Yamaha rider Josh Shiskoski sports a little personal reminder on his chest protector of his get off in the second MX-2 Pro moto.  Fortunately the MX-1 class ended on a better note where his 2-6 finishes landed him on the third step on the box behind the Westside Honda of Adam Pfeiffer and the Transcanada Motorsports Kawasaki of Josh Penner.

With second place in the Supermini main on the line Coard Allard came out on top of the battle of the day with Brayden Foster.

New kid on the block?  Danton Rach made his first appearance at an MMA event and won an MX-2 Beginner moto while finishing second overall.

With a grenaded bearing in his 450, Kurtis Ross arrived minutes before practice with a borrowed bike.  Blue must agree with Ross as he took his first overall in the MX-1 Beginner class.

Brett Foster tries to put a little show into his jumps for the fans on his way to third overall in the 65cc 10-12 class.

The third step on the box is also where Kyle Cyr found himself at the end of the day in the MX-1 Intermediate class.

Dylan Wiebe was top thumper in the 85cc 12-16 class with second overall.

See you at the races…
