BigWave's Detroit SX Photo Report

By Billy Rainford

This is the tunnel under the Detroit River into Michigan, USA.

I haven’t been to Detroit for a race since it was at the Pontiac Silverdome in, ahem, 1987. Ford Field is a very nice facility.

We hadn’t even been there two minutes and the girls were posing! Ah, yes, the benefits of a 200mm lens. BTW, they’re all hiding smokes in their right hands ... busted!

A friendly Winnipeg Bluebombers fan helped us out with passes. Thanks, Steve.

Hey, this guy looks familiar; it's Ryan Lockhart's old wrench, Kyle Patten. Why wasn’t he working on a Canadian’s bike?

 RV2 getting his pre-race hypnosis ... I guess?

I'm a little worried about Makita Suzuki's diet.

Smile for the big lens!

The lovely (Canadian) Erin Bates checks in on The Chad.

Michigan’s own Jeff Stanton did a hot lap on this retro beauty.

I thought this was good but somehow I don’t think this kid wrote it.

Tyler Medaglia (404) got a great start but worked his way out of contention due to some pains.

Dusty also had strong starts …

… and things were going pretty well until this happened. If you want to be the champ, you’ve gotta beat the champ. My money is still on Dusty this summer.

Pfff ... as if the girls are gonna pose for you with that little thing! Come on, Carl.

Villopoto is all grown up now with a hot girlfriend and everything. I felt like the stalkerazzi taking this photo, but thought you readers would enjoy it.

You gotta laugh. Strategically positionedstraps that force the skirt to ride up. Pretty funny.

The night was Millsaps right from the start. Great ride!

Windham and Josh Hill had a good fight during the main with Windham holding on for third.

How cool would this feel? Nice.

See you at the races!
