First things first, props go out to the CMRC for their second-week success with the transponder system. Despite one small scoring problem in the MX1 class, moto-journalists were treated to fresh clean sheets of printed results complete with lap times. It was awesome.
The weather was all over the map but the track held up really well. The new 'points for qualifying' rule has produced some awesome racing on Saturday's. JSR, Klatt, Decker and Facciotti all won their qualifiers. While Roy and Klatt won fairly easily, Decker and Facciotti both had to hold off challengers. Facciotti battled with teammate Jeff Northrop for the win. Decker got a great start in his MX1 qualifier but had to withstand a late moto charge by Blackfoot's Damon Huffman.
Islander Milo Christie was injured off the start of the first MX2 qualifier and the race was red flagged. Here's hoping Milo is okay. Richmond Racing's Brady Sheren walked away relatively unscathed from a nasty practice crash. Sheren broke a finger and was unable to ride the Saturday qualifiers.
