An immaculately groomed track awaited the Manitoba Motocross Association, as Brandon ’s Farm Boys Raceway hosted round three of the Spring Provincial Championship series, and the second Motovan CMRC Amateur National Qualifier June 6.

After a difficult weekend last weekend in Morden, Nick Dunn appeared determined to remind everyone exactly why his bikes sport a large number one on the plates.  Dunn was perfect on the day placing his gregscustom.com KTM on the top step of the podium in all four Pro motos on the day, and in the process raising the hopes of die hard two-stroke riders.

Winnipeg Sport & Leisure rider Michael Harms entered the day leading the points chase in the 250 Pro class.  Harms grabbed second place in both Pro classes piloting his CRFs to 2-2 finishes in 250 Pro and 4-2 finishes in 125 Pro.  Harms now trails Dunn by three points in the 250 class and has moved into the top five in the 125 Pro points race.

Hunter Teichrib posted 1-1 finishes in 50cc (4-6) and has a perfect 150 Points through three rounds.  Teichrib also finished 5-4 for fifth overall in the 60cc Pee Wee B class.

In the largest class of the day—it took two qualifiers and an LCQ to get down to the 40-man gate in the 125 Beginner class.  Devon Ward took the victory and in the process narrowed the points gap on class leader Jason Bergen.

Rio Stoesz put in a strong second moto and took the 60cc Pee Wee Class posting 2-1 finishes. The second moto win gave Stoesz the overall ahead of Coard Allard’s 1-2 finishes.

Dwayne Paterson grabbed a victory in the second moto of the Vet Master class.  Paterson ’s 3-1 finishes gave him second overall behind the 1-2 finish of Kim Houde.

Dean Beischer (606) leading Paul Masse (43) into the whoops.  Beischer captured the 250 Junior class with 1-1 finishes.  Beischer also grabbed second overall in Vet Junior going 2-2.  Masse posted a 2-4 finish in 250 Junior for second overall while going 4-3 for third overall in Vet Junior action.

Amy Houde grabbed the holeshot in both motos in the Ladies class.  In moto one, Houde was caught and passed by Desirae Shiskoski who would later hit the ground on the last lap; giving Houde the victory.  In moto two, Houde never looked back and turned her holeshot into a checkout victory, ahead of the YZ250F of Charity Schmidt.  Houde also took second place in the 80cc (12-16) class with 3-2 moto scores.

In 50cc 7-to-8 action, Matthew Bennett rode hard to post 2-2 finishes and grab second overall. Logan Swanson continued his perfect season in the class with a 1-1 finish.

In 250 Intermediate action, Shawn Williamson managed to go 2-2 for second overall behind Tim Lavoie.  The podium position moved Williamson into third place in the points race.

David Ledarney looks to be having no regrets about moving to a 250 full time this season, after giving up horsepower riding the Youth class on a 125 in the past.  Ledarney won the Youth class going 1-1 on the weekend and stretched his points lead on Matt Hamm to 15 points.

Aaron Pfrimmer grabbed his first overall of the season in the GP Junior class, going 2-1. He enjoyed it so much, he went out and won the 125 Junior class with scores of 1-1.

In the 125 Intermediate class, Troy Revet dominated the first moto as well as the early going of the second moto before a mechanical failure ended his run.  His moto scores of 1-21 gave him eighth place on the day.

Nolan Allard posted fifth place finishes in both the 80cc 12-to-16 and Supermini classes.  He ended the day with the points lead in the 80cc 12-to-16 class.

Back after a one year hiatus, is the Moto Medic team to take care of injured riders.  I’d include Albert’s full name but everyone I asked simply looked at me and said, “His name’s Moto.” So I guess you’re in a league with the likes of Sting and Madonna when you only need one name.

In the Little Ladies class, Rayna Mc Kellar went 1-1 for the overall ahead of Ashley Friesen.

Until next time keep your eyes on the prize!
