And their off! The best supercross riders in the world took to the MGM Grand Arena last night, hoping to earn themselves a good chunk of coin. Check out Tyler Medaglia (404) on the outside. The Suzuki City/ OTSFF rider was posting solid lap times all night, but bad starts and a few mistakes kept him from mixing it up with everyone. |

Josh Demuth (35) leads Grant Langston (8), Michael Bryne (26), and Jeff Gibson (40) back into the stadium. Demuth was impressive last night, putting his Hart and Huntington Honda in sixth in the main event behind Mike Alessi. The whoops were pretty much the only section that really separated guys, and Chad Reed had them dialed all night. |

I'm not a huge fan of the tight track featured inside the MGM Grand every year, but I will admit it makes for some good racing! Nearly every start produced some mayhem in the first corner. |

SoBe/ Samsung Honda had a strong showing with their riders Daniel Reardon (122) from Australia and Jake Weimer (73) on their CRF250F. The two were pretty much the only guys making passes in the main event. In this heat race, Weimer cut off Chad Reed (22) which resulted in Reedy giving him a nod that he wasn't impressed. Hey, rubbing's racing, right? |

Australia is becoming the centre of supercross talent these days. |

Monster Energy/ Cernic's Kawasaki's Jeff Gibson (40) pulled the holeshot in his semi. |

Pink was in the house with hubby Carey Hart. Oh, so was some multi-time national champ, Jeff Ward (far left). |

The Legends Race was a cool novelty at this year's Open. Jeff Emig (47), Mike Larocco (5), and Damon Huffman (20), all past winners of the U.S. Open, showed they still have plenty of speed and style. Larocco took the win, followed by Emig and Huffman. |

Las Vegas is a beautiful city. |

Makita Suzuki's Mike Alessi finished an uneventful fifth place in the main event. His brother, Jeff, crashed hard in the whoops and it appeared that his shoulder was seriously hurt. He returned to the semi and LCQ, but struggled to keep it on two wheels. |

This guy didn't struggle anywhere on the track last night. Reed took home $10,000 for setting the fastest lap time in the Super Pole competition, then holeshot the main event and pulled out a comfortable gap over Grant Langston for the win. |
