The Canadian Motorcycle Association has announced the riders who will
be competing for Canada at this years Motocross of Nations. The 61st
annual MXON is being held in the United States for only the second
time.
The event will take place at Budds Creek Raceway, Potomac, Maryland
September 22 and 23, 2007. The track is only one hour from the U.S.
Capital and a large International contingent of spectators is expected.
This year's team is comprised of two veteran Canadian Riders and one of
our up-and-coming stars. British Columbia's Dusty Klatt will ride MX2
for Team Canada, Klatt is currently competing in that class on the U.S.
National Circuit for Star Racing. Multi-time Canadian National Champion
Jean-Sebastien Roy from Quebec will represent Canada in MX1.
Saskatchewan's Blair Morgan will round out the team competing in MX3.
Morgan, a multi-time Motocross and Snocross Champion has led Team
Canada with its top results at the Nations for the past 4 years. Morgan
and Roy ride for Blackfoot Yamaha. All 3 riders will compete on
Yamaha's.
Last year's team member, Colton Facciotti, of British Columbia, also riding
a Blackfoot Yamaha, has agreed to be the first alternate. Team Manager
will be Chatsworth, Ontario's Carl Bastedo who has held that position
for the last 4 years. Bastedo has also organized a sold out bus tour to
the event to provide the opportunity for Canadian fans to travel as a
group to the event. Its all part of the team's fundraising activity.
