RXC's advertising rep, Jay Moore, may have had the fastest looking bike in the pits, but it wasn't until he installed TBT Racing's Carb Insert and mods that it actually became fast.

The Problem: It’s difficult to find a fault in the 2006 Honda CRF250R, but it did suffer one problem: poor throttle response, anytime you landed hard from a jump the bike bogged. Why? Because the opening in the carberator was increased from  37 mm to 40 mm which increased top end power, but lessened bottom end throttle response. The larger carb opening doesn't offer enough velocity, so when the bike lands hard, it cannot push the gas and air mixture into the engine fast enough.

The Solution: Make the carb smaller, and with the TBT Carb Insert, you can do just that—along with additional mods to increase throttle response on any Keihin carb. (The product comes packaged with easy to follow and detailed instructions complete with photos.) The TBT insert simply slides into the carb using a rubber mallet and bingo—your CRF has instant throttle response (well, you also have to install new jets which are included with the insert). We were surprised how fast we noticed the difference, even with the bike sitting on the stand, you can feel and hear the difference. Instead of a brief hesitation, the CRF lights up without a bog, blurp or hiccup. On the track, the insert is noticable everywhere: landing from jumps, through the whoops and off the start. If you own a 2006 CRF250R, this is a must-have mod.
