St. Louis photo report

Round 7 of the Amp'd Mobile AMA Supercross Series is best described with two words: entertaining and unpredictable. With Ricky Carmichael DNFing, James Stewart crashing and handing the win and series points lead to Chad Reed, I'm really starting to think this supercross series is scripted.

That's one Monster condom!

Derek Schuster helped spin the wrenches for Lockhart this weekend. The Newf drove 30 hours from California to St. Louis, with some help from Rick Sheren who loaned Lockhart his Fun Mover.

Rick Sheren pushes his son Brady's bike to the line. Brady missed the West series because of mono and really hasn't spent much time on the bike, other than a week riding supercross in California. However, Sheren looked fast and smooth in practice and throughout qualifying, but failed to make the main. Better luck next weekend, Brady.

Kyle Chisholm traded in his traditional Fox Racing gear for some Moose wear. Chisholm has been practicing with James Stewart and Timmy Ferry in Florida and it showed in St. Louis. After battling well within in the top 10, the Seminole, Florida teenager went on to finish eighth in his first AMA Lites race.

Mitch Cooke made it through his day qualifier by finishing seventh (they only take the top eight) but bad starts and first corner pile ups kept him from making the Lites main. Cooke says he needs to work on being more aggressive in the first few laps.

Lockhart gets his transponder snipped off before the Supercross main. Lockhart suffered a flat rear tire in his semi and rushed back to the pits to throw some air in it before the LCQ. But unfortunately, it went flat within two laps.

Doug DeHaan poured it on in St. Louis. Starting to get real sick of just barely making it into the Supercross main, DeHaan was making some aggressive moves on Tyler Evans, Mike Brown and David Vuillimen in his semi, but it just wasn't enough; DeHaan finished sixth in the semi, just ahead of DV. In the LCQ, DeHaan came off the line with a less than ideal start and didn't have enough time to get into qualifying position.

He did it! Dusty Klatt qualified for his first ever AMA Supercross Lites main event. After qualifying seventh in his heat race, Klatt rode a smart and consistent race to finish 13th in the Lites main.
