Another night, another night show

- press release -

Anaheim California - After making last week's night program and then crashing out, Ryan Lockhart spent the week practicing with supercross regulars Sean Hamblin, Mike Brown and the rest of the Rockstar team. Having the experience and confidence to know he can make the night program, Nova Scotia’s “NEWF” would attempt to better his results from last week, but most importantly, have fun.

Ryan made it through practice unscathed, and worked at cutting his lap times on the much shorter track. Ryan was able to get to 54 seconds, while the leaders were running consistent 45s. When it came time for the day qualifier, Ryan ended up in the more “stacked” qualifier, and although not getting the holeshot as he did previously, he easily made the night program again, finishing in sixth position, a mere nine seconds off the leader after four laps. The pressure was off, and it was time to wait for the heat races later in the evening.

Although living his dream, but not in a dream world, Ryan realizes that he will not make the main out of the first qualifier. After all they only take the top four, and it is filled with the best in the world. Ryan uses the heat races and the semis to become more familiar with the tracks and to learn. Wanting to get more experience and make it later into the program, Lockhart rode sensibly to the checkers in his heat race. His semi had him battling to the finish with fellow Canadian Doug Dehaan, crossing the line almost side by side. In the LCQ, or as Ryan calls it, the OCQ (only chance qualifier) again Lockhart and Dehaan battled to end with the Nova Scotian getting the upper hand by mere feet.

Making the night program means Wonder Warthog covers the entry fee for privateers, and a tenth in the LCQ does actually pay enough that Ryan will be making the eight hour trip to San Francisco this coming weekend. Hoping to improve with each week, Ryan’s plan is to better his previous weekends results and to make a main event by the end of the season, or at least have the most fun he can while trying. Stay tuned to CBS Sports and Speedvision for a glimpse of number 286 riding with the best there is.

Ryan would like to take this time to thank his sponsors: OTSFF Suzuki, TWO WHEEL Motorsports, PRO-ACTION Suspension, SHOT MX gear, Pirelli tires, SPY optics, Gaerne boots, sixsixone, Factory Effex, Bell Helmets, works connection, PRO CIRCUIT, Sean Hamblin and his mechanic Joey Dobson
