Supercross in Vancouver is on! New dirt (if dirt can be classified as new), new faces and a stacked Supercross Lites class is all leading up to some of the best race action Canada may ever see. During Friday’s practice we were happy to see that many of Eastern Canada’s hopefuls had made the migration out to BC including Ryan Lockhart and the Racer X Canada road show’s Jason Burke and Co. Meanwhile the solid Western Canadian talent pool were out in full force including Dusty Klatt. Here are a few photos from Friday at BC Place.

The kindhearted Steven Anderson made it possible for Ryan Lockhart to race the Vancouver Supercross by anteing up for Ryan’s plane ticket. Anderson has earned himself the Racer X Canada ultimate fan distinction this weekend in Vancouver. |

David Vuillemin made his first Supercross debut on his new Boo Koo Honda ride. It is strange seeing number 12 on a red bike. |

While the rhythm sections and whoops seem to be the source of stress for many of the riders, Davey Milsaps seems to be living stress free in Vancouver. |

Dusty Klatt was out for Friday practice but was still showing signs of shoulder pain. If it wasn’t for those killer whoops, Klatt would definitely be a podium contender. Jaimeson Keegan, rider rep for Red Bull Canada, dropped by the stadium to present Dusty Klatt with his official Red Bull-sponsored helmet. Klatt becomes the first Canadian motocrosser to be sponsored by Red Bull. |

Jason Burke and crew made the grueling 5000 km trip across the country to “Vancoober” in their Label-It cube van. Burke crashed in practice and took a large chunk of flesh out of his knee. He’s back up and going and ready for tonight’s challenges. Check out an upcoming Racer X Canada magazine for the full story of Burke’s trials and tribulations crossing the country. |

The RC/Stewart battle is scheduled to continue tonight as planned. James Stewart is looking to have an advantage over Carmichael in the rhythm sections, but even so, RC is looking more determined than ever. |

… And last but definitely not least, the annual OGIO/Red Bull/M2R/TBC Indoor Racing go-kart challenge was held last night in Richmond, BC and the tension in the air was so thick you could cut it with a sawsall. Over a dozen teams signed up for the two and a half hour industry endurance race that was filled with controversy and corruption. |

The overall winner was team Ogio who hired track owner “Slippery” Shawn to guarantee a win at this year’s event. Many teams left disgruntled and protests have been filed. |

Racer X Canada team member Danny “Giver” Brault was quoted as saying, “Man there is something wrong with our kart. Did you notice that it keeps sliding out? It’s not my fault. That kart sucks!” We don’t blame you Danny—really! |
