HAPPY CANADA DAY

MOTOCROSS OF NATIONS, TEAM CANADA

The largest Motocross event on the World Calendar returns to Great Britain in 2008. The 62nd annual Motocross of Nations will take place at Donington Park, September 27-28.

The Canadian Motorcycle Association had made a commitment to re-build with its youngest team in history. This has resulted in the naming of the following riders.

Riding the #28 Yamaha in MX1 will be Aldergrove B.C. native Colton Facciotti. The 20 year old, who rides for the Calgary based Toyota Yamaha Blackfootdirect.com Fox team, was the top Canadian in last year's National Series and is currently second overall in MX1 in 2008.

The MX2 class will feature the #29 Suzuki of Tyler Medaglia. The 21 year old Medaglia, a resident of Ottawa, Ont. is the sensation of this year's National Series and is currently leading the MX1 class. Medaglia rides for Vaughn, Ont. based OTSFF Motorsport.

Riding for Canada in MX3 will be the #30 Kawasaki of Dusty Klatt. The 23 year old from Campbell River B. C. was the #1 rider in Canada in 2006 and is just coming off a season of racing in the U.S. Klatt is currently 3rd in the MX1 class. He rides for U.S. based Cernics Kawasaki.

The first alternate for this year's team is Kyle Beaton. The 20 year old from Surrey B.C. rides a Yamaha in MX2 for Clearbrook Yamaha. Beaton has competed in Great Britain a number of times recently winning the London Supercross.

Team Manager for the 5th year will be Chatsworth Ontario's Carl Bastedo. Bastedo commented. "The support from the riders, the teams and supporters across Canada this year is unprecedented. That and the great infrastructure support we have in Great Britain from the Par Honda team will go a long way to helping us better our best performance to date, an 8th overall in Lierop, The Netherlands, in 2004.

The Motocross of Nations is covered by more of the Worlds Motocross Media than any other event and is seeen on television in 150 countries with an audience of 100 million people. Live timing and scoring Sept. 27-28 can be found at www.motocrossmx1.com.
