Update from Suzuki's Guy Giroux
MAY 14, 2008

Canadian offroad "legend" Guy Giroux sends out a periodic email to update his sponsors on his results and progress. This one was so good, we just had to run it, unedited! Careful, he's French Canadian.

G-Rocks in action

Yes it's that time of the year again...   The racing adventures have officially started!!!!

Well i think 08 will be one interesting year, lets recap my winter, after last year, last race (when i got beat by Homans number 4 in MX), the buzz on the internet was that i was now a HAS BEEN !!!!  Well OK I aint exactly 20 anymore...(28 ) but HAS BEEN after finishing second once ! whatever!!!!

So this winter i decided that i would do my best to destroy any doubt... So i got a personal trainer, that got me look like a ballerina in the gym by standing on ballons and lifting stuff..this 6 times a week, then i went and got myself humiliated by training with the best in the world for a week...Thanks again GK And Wib !

Then my crazy trainer decided he was also gonna decide what i was gonna eat... So my regular chicken , coke, nacho, and BEER list was changed for, vedgetable, fruits, fruit juice, water, and all kind of funny looking things...i also had to drink a bunch of different mixture, that cost more than my race fuel!!!

The other great change for 08 , is my Race Rig....  WOW  I'm now a real PIMP, i bought last week a 32 ft long race trailer complete with living quarter, can you imagine=Real Bed, Heater..., SHOWER...with HOT water, Fridge...(but no beer &%X!...), 12 ft garage, and AC for the summer....  The only disadvantage..my poor pick up now drink
a good 40 liters every 100km..............................maybe i will now sell my trophies to help pay for fuel...

Next step is to put some sticker on that big rig to make it the official G-Rocks mobile!!

So how was the week end...it did start bad , when it took me 45 min to hook my trailer...and another 30 min to backed it out of my driveway,
since i live on a mountain, my driveway and the road are not
on the same angle...making the trailer come too close to my truck bed.....and then only to realized my brake controller wasnt working!!!!
10 000 pounds in the back and no brake..whatever lets go racing...

Anyway we got there ok, parked THE rig, and went jogging the trail!!!!  what a tight trail!!!! while jogging we had to brake in some corners...  After the jog, we went back to the rig to eat my special menu... and NO BEERS     What a change, can a shower, and a heater make...and dont forget the real bed..i'm spoiled!!!

The new rig

I woke up fresh like a ROSE..  and watched the morning race where Tiger(aka Minou, Jean, camera dude) rode good but only got his 125 in 3rd once a lap as the trail was so tight!!!!

Then it was my time i got an OK start in 4th ( i have to kick then shift, since the bike won't start in gear) 30 sec into the race i was in first...then i put the hammer down..clocking almost a minute faster a lap than everybody....the trail was so tight and rough that after only 1 hrs racers were quitting making my life way easier, with less people to pass..

I kept the my fast pace and ended up lapping 3rd place on the last lap( HAS BEEN my ass....) and second only 2 min ahead....I'm really looking foward to the season!!

My off season training really worked, and my stupid no beer diet too!!, now i'm riding my ass off, with MX kids(Tremblay,Genereux) 2-3 times a week to improve my raw speed, i'm back on my bicycle 4-5 times a week and i'm having a blast!

Thanks again to everyone that made this possible again...
